Applying Ontario Building Code in Design
Lessons learned using the Ontario Building Code to ensure design compliance and safety in academic and practice projects.
As part of my academic BIM project, I applied the Ontario Building Code (OBC) to ensure compliance in design. I focused on room sizes, ceiling heights, fire safety regulations, and accessibility standards, integrating these requirements into the Revit model. This project reinforced the importance of regulatory compliance in building design and helped me learn how to check and document OBC compliance in both 2D drawings and 3D models. Applying these standards gave me a strong foundation for professional architectural modelling in Canada.
